Losing everything in the fire last November made me re-evaluate my life goals. Until then I was drifting from one project to the next, taking on whatever job interested me or that I needed to pay the bills. Now I understand that in order to move forward, I need to jump-start my education and credentials.
The Media Design Master of Fine Arts program from Full Sail University is a large part of that plan. Over the next twelve months, this blog will document my journey on the path to Mastery.
I look forward to learning many practical skills related to design and branding, but Mastery is more than just gaining new knowledge. It’s about gaining command of your innate creativity. It’s about freeing yourself of old habits and perceptions. It’s about discovering new paths.
This journal will include my thoughts on readings and assignments from Full Sail University, starting with the first course, Mastery: Personal Development and Leadership. From there we’ll move on to classes directly related to design and client relations.

The journal will contain quotes and images that I find inspiring. It will include my designs through all steps of creation.
I’m also taking courses from Adobe Education Exchange and Lynda.com to further my technical skills. This journal will include entries about these courses as well.
Mastery is not a destination. It’s a journey. And I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.
